The Solution is: Words that come before "pack"

Today’s Pinpoint threw me off immediately. “Ice” is one of those clues that could point in ten different directions. Cold things? Frozen water? Hockey gear? Or maybe a compound-word pattern? Because Pinpoint loves that kind of setup, my brain went straight there. Ice cream felt obvious, so I guessed “Words before cream.” Then came “Jet,” and I changed course fast. With Ice and Jet on the board, I started thinking maybe the game wanted something like “Words before black” because of jet black. That felt clever for about two seconds. Then “Booster” showed up. Now the set was Ice, Jet, Booster — and I started trying to force them into a movement or propulsion theme. Rockets. Power. Things that push something forward. So I tried “Things that propel.” It sort of worked for Jet and Booster, but Ice was doing absolutely nothing for that theory. Still, Pinpoint can be slippery, so I took the shot. At that point I was properly stumped. The clues felt random in a very deliberate way. Suddenly the whole puzzle opened up: ice pack jet pack booster pack six pack That kind of click is my favorite thing in Pinpoint — the moment where four messy clues instantly become one clean idea.
