Today's Pinpoint felt like a classic case of "don't overthink it." The first word looked obvious. Maybe too obvious. And that's exactly what got me. When I saw Spade, my brain instantly split into multiple tabs. On one side: digging tools. On the other: card games. And if you've played enough Pinpoint, you know the game loves double meanings. "Spade" as a card suit felt like a clever, clean category. It almost felt too easy. So I leaned into that instinct and guessed something along the lines of card suits. The second clue appeared: Rake. That killed the card theory immediately. No suits here. No hidden metaphor. Just… a rake. Now I had to rethink everything. Spade and rake together? That's not subtle. Both live in the shed. Both involve dirt. Suddenly my "clever" theory collapsed, and a much simpler one took its place. Still, I hesitated for a second. Was it something broader like outdoor equipment? Landscaping items? Yard maintenance gear? But Pinpoint answers usually go with the cleanest shared category. And this one was staring right at me. I guessed Gardening tools. Correct on the second try. The rest of the clues just sealed the deal. Trowel is that small handheld digging tool. Hoe is another garden staple. And finally, Wheelbarrow (to move soil) removed any lingering doubt — that little note about soil made the setting crystal clear. No tricks. No wordplay.
