Today’s puzzle completely tricked me at first. When I saw the opening word, I immediately went practical. Everyday stuff. Nothing dramatic. And that assumption almost cost me the game. The first clue was Toothpaste. My brain went straight to: Oral hygiene products Bathroom items Things in tubes With just one word, it could’ve been anything. Since Pinpoint forces you to guess to unlock the next clue, I went with Oral hygiene products. Then came Copper pipes. Now I felt more confident about the bathroom angle. Toothpaste… copper pipes… plumbing? Fixtures? I guessed Bathroom items. At that point I was honestly a little annoyed. The connection felt so obvious that I stopped trusting it. So I changed the question. Instead of asking what these things are, I started wondering where they might have come from. The third clue was 365-day (solar) calendar. And that was the aha moment. The ancient Egyptians are widely credited with developing a 365-day solar calendar. And once that clicked, the earlier clues rearranged themselves instantly: Early forms of toothpaste? Documented in Ancient Egypt. Copper piping systems? Used in ancient Egyptian structures. Solar calendar? That one practically shouted it. The pattern was no longer about what these items are. It was about where they most likely began. I guessed Ancient Egyptian inventions. And finally — correct. The last two clues—Papyrus and Heiroglyphs (𓂀𓋹𓅓)—felt like a victory lap. Once the category was clear, these were unmistakable. Papyrus as an early writing material. Hieroglyphs as a writing system. Both are tightly associated with Ancient Egypt, so by then there was zero suspense left. What I liked about this puzzle is how sneaky it was.
