Today's puzzle looked deceptively simple. Just one word staring back at me: And honestly? That could go anywhere. When I saw Well, my brain immediately split in three directions. Maybe it was about health—feeling well, wellness, that kind of thing. Or maybe it was literal, like a water well. There's also the compound-word route: well-known, well-being, well-made… With only one clue, I defaulted to a common Pinpoint pattern: synonyms. So I guessed something like "Synonyms for healthy." Not a great start—but at least I unlocked the second clue. Now things got interesting. Well + Pad didn't scream "health" anymore. Instead, something else clicked in the back of my mind: inkwell ink pad I tested the pairing mentally. Both words cleanly follow the same short word. And unlike my first guess, this connection felt tight—specific, not vague. My second guess: Things that hold ink. But the real fun was seeing how the remaining clues fit perfectly into place.
